Beloved Students:
We come together in focus once again for the benefit of precious Earth. As we recognize the terrible destruction now taking place in the Gulf of Mexico, as we humbly acknowledge the great toll being extracted upon innocent beings living in the Gulf, may we redouble our dedication for cleansing and purification now! May the commitment that each of you feels be magnified 100-fold, and may the pristine beauty for which this Gulf was once known be restored! So be it!
As we come together this month, may the fact that we join hearts and minds in an effort to bring healing to the Gulf benefit all sentient beings now affected by the toxic dump the Gulf has become. I recognize that even though each of you must surely feel devastated by the unfolding predicament in the Gulf, I also realize that it is easy to lose your focus on the Gulf at this time. You have heard so much about the situation, and because many of you find yourselves miles from the Gulf, it seems as if there is nothing you can do to change the flow of this current of destruction.
Please hold the Gulf proper, as well as all the beings that dwell in and around the Gulf, in your continued prayers of blessing and healing. Clearly, the prayer/meditation offerings you make work at the etheric level, opening the way for blessings and healing to become manifest at a physical level. Indeed, great effort needs to come forth at both levels. Even with the collection of all the offerings that my group of students has brought forth (and indeed, some of you have been stunning in your consideration for, and offerings to, Earth), much more is needed.
Thus, I am asking that you join me in creating a massive focus for the very healing that is needed. As you should all know by now, planetary consciousness is a shared consciousness, and is one in which all of you participate. The karma that is now arising, and which is driving all the non-clarity and distortion in both the Gulf of Mexico and the world at large, is planetary karma.
This means that even though you did not personally dump oil in the Gulf waters, part of this karma is yours, since you are part of the planetary community. Indeed, what is manifesting is the combined non-clarity and distortion of millennia. Know that Earth has been carrying all this distortional energy ever since the collective force of human mentality generated it. Now, it is time for that energy to be transformed into a force for planetary enlightenment. Barring that, it must be released from planetary consciousness. Currently, you are witnessing the planet release toxicity built up over thousands of years.
Because part of the karma manifesting is yours, each of you will want to work inwardly to purify toxic residue in your own mind. These manifest through feelings of disharmony and/or retaliation, grudges held, even the presence of something so seemingly insignificant as episodes of grumpy or complaining mind. But further, because this is group karma arising, you must take your work into the group setting. It is naïve to think that a little work with your own mind will solve all the problems in the Gulf.
While work on your own mind is clearly important, it is time to go deeper in the work of purification. Earth is your planetary home, and you must do what is necessary to preserve Her precious life force, and offer the full service of which your heart and mind are capable. Join me in declaring August 15, 2010 Earth Healing Day.
Please join me also in inviting people from other organizations and concerned spiritual aspirants all around the world to hold as a sacred time for planetary healing from noon in their respective time zones until 13:00 (1:00 p.m.) as a sacred time for offering prayers of healing, directing healing energies into the gulf of Mexico, chanting, and asking Earth’s forgiveness for the presence of the planetary karma now driving the destructive forces in the Gulf.
Our goal is to secure people in virtually every time zone around the planet to participate. In this manner, there will be a wave of dedicated focus spanning a full 24 hours. Please notify any and all persons you think might be willing to participate in this service. VFF will have a task force in place to organize the efforts of all our members, and provide information that you can use in e-mails or letters. As you are all aware, I seldom ask for 100% participation from our membership. I am doing so now, for a couple of reasons.
In the first place, time is running out for the Gulf and its inhabitants. This should be painfully clear to all of you at this point. But further, the time-frame for responding to the darkness now emerging in planetary consciousness is also limited. Do not think that the citizens of Earth have lifetimes to clean up the karma they have created over the past several thousand years. Indeed, if this mess of collective experiencing is not addressed immediately, there could be a radical shift in the Earth experience. Most of you have heard of periods of planetary experiencing wherein the planet was literally set back significantly in Her spiritual journey. This time certainly has, as one potential, the possibility of forestalling planetary evolution in much the same manner as the destruction of Atlantis.
While I do not say these things to frighten you, I do believe it is important that every being who cares for the future of the planet understand the gravity of the current situation, and recognize that the stakes are indeed high. Fear, for those of you who are prone to lose yourselves in it, will not rectify the problems that have manifest, but will offer much energy toward the setting back of Earth’s evolutionary process.
For those of you who will be attending the Recession-Proofing Your Mind workshop in Denver scheduled for August 14-15, we will utilize the selected time on the 15th to do a powerful group meditation for the Gulf/Earth. I do hope all of you who can make the event will recognize the importance of being with a dedicated group of people on August 15th. If you do not recognize this importance, then please listen to your friends and spiritual family members who do understand the power of community effort in such matters.
From my perspective, it is all too obvious that the calamity in the Gulf of Mexico is directly related to the kind of recession-induced mentality that is currently gripping the planet. Can you not see that such is a type of death energy? In our lesson this month, I speak to the collective arising of this death energy. You are being called to step into your vastness now and make a profound difference for the planet that has supported your growth and transformation in your many lifetimes.
Please join me this month (July, 2010) in listening to the lecture I recently created for you entitled, Critical Stress and a Weakening Planet. Please recognize that you took birth, in this life, to aid your planet as She undergoes the travail that leads to Her new life. Do not think that you can simply leave this responsibility to others. These are the times for which you took birth. These are the times in which you can establish the finest hour of what it is to be human. Do not miss this opportunity to rise to the very greatness for which you were born.
I will ask you this month, as I did last month, an important question: Has your journey been one of taking from Earth or one of giving back to Earth? This is your time to give back to your precious planet in an unprecedented way. Will you harken to Her call, or will you turn a deaf ear to her cries for your support and focused healing? These are the times, and you are the ones who took birth for the healing of Earth. Will you awaken to the call that is now being sounded by your precious planet?
Please awaken. Make your constant offering of will and heart to the healing of Earth. Know that She cannot do this alone. She has been insulted for millennia by the karma of war, thievery, greed, corruption, neglect and complacency. Yes, to your dear planet, neglect and complacency are as destructive as are these other “sins” you find so easy to castigate in others ~ particularly corporate giants that place their own interests above the well-being of the planet.
As I have said to you so many times, you have come from Love. Indeed, there is no other source from which you could possibly originate. Love sustains you and continually blesses you. Can you now afford not to offer the love of your Source (that begat you and sustains you) to your planet? Join me in bringing together a half million people to offer the healing work on August 15, 2010.

Beloved Students:
I greet you in the wonder and magnificence of a planet in change, and I celebrate with you the amazing opportunities that are unfolding in the collective human journey. As you celebrate the autumnal equinox this year, may each of you know true balance in your life. May you open to the exquisite forces that now come forth, and may you dedicate both your learning and your spiritual transformation to Earth and all Her precious beings.
As you contemplate your personal journey, what new level of balance are you observing? Are you witnessing your own progress easily, or is the business of attaining greater balance still a bit of a mystery for you? Whatever your perceived condition of the moment, remember: it is never too late to choose balance (over chaos) as the rule and measure for your beautiful life.
As we near our annual Peace Convocation, I hope each of you is at peace with your personal growth and spiritual progress thus far in 2009. You will, of course, certainly have additional opportunities this year to enhance your current level of balance and apply your accomplishments in all areas of your life. The important thing now, however, is to celebrate your accomplishments, and to do so with the magnificence and grace of your true nature.
As you bear witness to your spiritual progress, it is important to periodically recommit to your personal growth intentions. As you must surely know by now, I am always in favor of “raising the bar,” since doing so demonstrates your commitment to creating your way to the next level of spiritual attainment. Indeed, many people may have lost some ground, spiritually speaking, in the chaotic intensity of 2008/09. Maintaining continuous focus on personal balance, however, will help you remain calm and serene – no matter how complicated and intense life may prove.
Therefore, to negotiate these times well, it is probably important to be fully aware of your commitments to yourself. I say this not to en-courage self-importance, nor any kind of ego inflation, but to bring to light a latent tendency for some of you. I have noticed that some of my students are good at keeping their commitments to others, but fall down a bit on keeping their commitments to themselves.
I suggest that each of you take a moment to consider whether such might be true for you. Do you find that you effort significantly to keep your commitments of time and tasks to other people, but become negligent about the commitments you make to yourself? Do you have difficulty finding time for your personal spiritual practice because you feel torn by commitments to family, friends and your work? If so, please know that you have a lot of company!
While I am certainly not suggesting that you break commitments made to others simply to clear your schedule, I do think it is important to consider whether or not your ego may use those commitments to others to override (or ignore altogether) the important spiritual promises you have made to yourself. Know that those egos are highly adept at finding ways to skirt issues that pertain to one’s spiritual development. In truth, egos have skillfully demonstrated this adept faculty for ages.
How do egos do this? Often, egos have a way (or several ways) of reinforcing the old notion that you are separate from other beings. The stronger the sense of duality seems, the easier it is for the ego to reflect duality to engage com-paring mind. Its goal is to pit commitments made to yourself against commitments made to others. Then, the ego will likely entreat you to accept an either/or position that compels a choice between spiritual service rendered to others and spiritual service rendered toward your own enlightenment. The ego can be very convincing, and if you are not ever mindful of its machinations, you may find yourself thoughtlessly following its lead.
While it is not quite accurate to say the ego is to blame, I think we can probably agree that it is pretty good at finding ways to convince you of its most prized arguments. It is so good, in fact, that you often do not even question it. Perhaps it has held sway in your experiential realm for lifetimes, and its forcefulness is so trance-inducing that you simply remain asleep, even though your intentions are to become fully awakened in all areas of your life.
Perhaps this is the perfect time to take stock of commitments to yourself that may have fallen through the cracks in your busy life. Perhaps you have felt over-burdened with the number of responsibilities you may have. I notice that many of you are experiencing stress at levels you have never previously experienced, and that can indeed make for a difficult time in sorting out all those commitments. I also notice that to cope with the stress and the commitments, many of you simply try to put the matter out of mind. This strategy, at the very least, seems better than continually beating yourself up with critical mind.
The problem here is that ignoring the matter does not solve it. You will likely still feel over-burdened, and the ego will try to convince you to simply avoid thinking about that, as well. Suspended over time, this practice can give rise to considerable denial, which only complicates things further by leaving you feeling not only overwhelmed, but also depressed. If you know depression, you probably also know its presence can trigger further feelings of guilt and confusion rather than providing a sense of accomplishment or confidence in your spiritual path.
Lacking confidence in your path may bring up many different types of mental afflictions: fear, anger, hesitation, even hostility and disrespect for both yourself and all others who are on spiritual paths. While it would not be accurate to say that depression is the cause for the succeeding emotional states here mentioned, it is fair to say that in the midst of so many potential emotional influences, most folks might miss the underlying consideration altogether: that of not keeping their personal spiritual commitments to themselves.
Additionally, there may also be challenges in stabilizing balance between their inner and outer worlds. I have noticed that some of my students keep their commitments to others out of a sense of guilt, which can also lead to un-pleasant mental states. When a commitment is kept out of a sense of obligation, it is no longer a gift to the other person. Rather, it becomes a burden to the one keeping the commitment/ obligation. Some would argue that commitments to others are indeed obligations – obligations to keep one’s word. While this is of course true, if one cannot keep one’s commitments to others with a generous spirit, then perhaps those commitments, and the meaning behind them, should be examined further.
While I am not suggesting that reneging on commitments is appropriate, I am putting forth that ruthless self-examination is always appropriate. However, the point of ruthless self-examination is not to cultivate a sense of guilt, but to learn balance in the area of commitments, and competence in keeping commitments made to one’s self.
Please join me this month in listening to the lecture I recently recorded for you, entitled Supreme Balance. In it I have given some suggestions for preparing for this year’s Peace Convocation, and some additional thoughts on this business of keeping the commitments you make to yourselves. While this may seem a small thing to some of you, it turns out to be a major spiritual stumbling block for many people.

While it would not be accurate to say that depression is the cause for the succeeding emotional states here mentioned, it is fair to say that in the midst of so many potential emotional influences, most folks might miss the underlying consideration altogether: that of not keeping their personal spiritual commitments to themselves.
Additionally, there may also be challenges in stabilizing balance between their inner and outer worlds. I have noticed that some of my students keep their commitments to others out of a sense of guilt, which can also lead to un-pleasant mental states. When a commitment is kept out of a sense of obligation, it is no longer a gift to the other person. Rather, it becomes a burden to the one keeping the commitment/ obligation. Some would argue that commitments to others are indeed obligations – obligations to keep one’s word. While this is of course true, if one cannot keep one’s commitments to others with a generous spirit, then perhaps those commitments, and the meaning behind them, should be examined further.
While I am not suggesting that reneging on commitments is appropriate, I am putting forth that ruthless self-examination is always appropriate. However, the point of ruthless self-examination is not to cultivate a sense of guilt, but to learn balance in the area of commitments, and competence in keeping commitments made to one’s self.
Please join me this month in listening to the lecture I recently recorded for you, entitled Supreme Balance. In it I have given some suggestions for preparing for this year’s Peace Convocation, and some additional thoughts on this business of keeping the commitments you make to yourselves. While this may seem a small thing to some of you, it turns out to be a major spiritual stumbling block for many people.

Greetings, and wondrous blessings to each of you as we begin the month of August. May your summer experiences continue to provide you with countless good things, and may you enjoy the summer months of 2009 immensely. I hope each of you has been considering carefully all of our previews of various aspects of balance. I also hope all of you are finding ways to enhance your own personal levels of balance, as well. May you continue to grow in peace and equanimity throughout the coming months.
In our recorded lesson for this month, Balancing Karma and Emptiness, we are carefully exploring the conventional reality and attempting to add at least one new way of observing it. Indeed, I hope this lesson strikes a note with each of you that will aid you in cutting through the illusions of the physical plane.
As you know, our 2009 annual Peace Convocation will be here soon. You can expect another (hopefully profound) look at the power that attaining balance has in the enlightenment process. While I have not spoken directly to this matter, it should be obvious from many of the affirmations provided in the daily thoughts, that balance is unequivocally tied to realizing enlightenment.
Of course, we will be exploring this facet in depth at our Convocation, and I am hopeful that we will have a strong field of potentiality in which to progress. To prepare yourselves for this work, I would suggest that each of you begin making the link between what we might call “supreme balance,” and enlightenment. Indeed, they are powerfully locked together, for none can achieve one without the presence of the other.
In our Convocation, we will also be looking at the ever-present influence of confusion, since such is the general state of those locked in the realm of samsara, and because it is necessary to recognize the level of con-fusion in one’s own life if spiritual liberation is to be attained. Of course, it should go without saying that I hope each of you is diligently working for the liberation of all sentient beings, including yourself, of course, and that our time at Convocation will be especially meaningful to each of you this year.
As you will note in our recorded lesson for this month, quite a bit of attention is given to the conventional reality with the idea of helping each of you trust your own intelligence as regards all that you are hearing about the current economic situation. I want to urge each of you to throw off the trance of believing that you are not sophisticated enough to fully understand what is going on. While there are, of course, multiple opinions being put forth (each with great authority), I challenge all of you to carefully observe the situations that arise before you. Then, make your own decisions as to what is actually taking place. While it is tempting to simply believe that the economy is “in the tank,” I think it wiser to use your native intelligence and decide, based on your direct experience, what you will hold as “true.”
Just in case any of you have missed it, I’m issuing a wake-up call to all of you. In critical times, it is very tempting to slip into one kind of trance or another, which renders one unable to see the true state of anything, let alone draw upon the wisdom to proactively chart one’s own course through the maelstrom. However, most of you know me well enough to know that I truly want each of you to take your power in all moments, but particularly those wherein you might be tempted to fall into a cozy (or so it may feel) trance state. Simply stated, you are all capable of more than that, and I am here, conveniently enough, to remind you of that truth.
As you listen to the lecture for this month, I hope it will be quite clear that something is expected of you at this time. I say this not to complicate any of your already notoriously complicated lives, but to remind you that there are reasons why you happen to be occupying space upon the planet at the current time. These are great times for developing (and deepening) your mudita, metta, karuna and upekkha. In trying times, you will discover that the pressures which appear to arise from the world around you, or the conventional reality, are the very forces needed to launch you forward in these spiritual qualities.
What are the hidden potentials within the events and occurrences arising to greet you at the present time? What do you think the great lessons are for the mass of humanity now inhabiting the planet? How will the planetary process be different for the fact that you, and many others, are now facing these lessons? As you have probably noticed by now, these are the times in which to ask the difficult questions, and if you do not ask them, who will seed the planetary consciousness?
Indeed, for your life to attain some precious meaning (over and above the space of your years), you must en-gage questioning mind in order to grasp the full scope of the meaning you are capable of creating. You see, a meaningful life is not a matter of destiny so much as a matter of creation. Each person must come to realize that s/he is the creator of whatever meaning will be established in his/her own life. While this may seem obvious, I challenge each of you to consider the matter deeply, and then use your intelligence and your creative intent to build, or construct, the meaning you want to set forth in your life.
To accomplish this, you will need to scrutinize your self-reflections on your life. You will need to discover clearly just what the blocks are to your seeing through the veils of illusion that confront you. After all, your own karmic projections are part of the mass illusion, whether or not you have fully realized it by this point. Analyze carefully just why it is that your own mind persists in its dualistic preoccupations, ignoring the fact that all beings are manifestations of the divine force that holds the universe together.
Of course, we have been working on expanding your capacity for upekkha for the previous seven months. I would like to suggest that each of you use the questions above (or similar ones) to consider the depth of your upekkha, or equanimity. It is always the perfect moment to deepen upekkha, and there is never a time when it is not needed, both for your own growth and enlightenment, and for the healing of the planet, as well. Who, after all, is in charge of your spiritual development? Who is in charge of directing your mind into Essence? None can want your own fulfillment more than you.
How expansive, and expressive, is your mudita (sympathetic joy) these days? Are you happy with those who are doing well, or is it easier for you to fall into negative thinking and talking with those who are having a hard time. This latter state will invite some of the difficulties you witness in the lives of others into your own life. Rather than falling into the trance of hardship, difficulty and poverty, why not simply invest great amounts of metta (loving kindness) into the lives of all with whom you share your existence? That certainly beats the trance of hardship and poverty.
This is an excellent time to spread the energy of karuna, (compassion) among all sentient beings. For those who are suffering more than you, offer compassion in the journey they are taking. They, too, fall prey to the karmic bakchaks they have carried, and focusing on compassion prevents your mind from falling into dire straights, or opting for a trance that may take tremendous energy to break. It is important to continually think in terms such as these in order to keep your mind pointed in the correct direction of your enlightenment. I realize this sounds like an arduous task, and to some extent, it actually is. However, it is highly important that you awaken from the trances that confine you in one sleep state or another.
It is important to remember that no matter how difficult the times may be, you are held in beauty and grace. It is important that you actually look for the beauty and grace, because if you cannot see their presence flowing through your life, then you miss the benefits these energies provide. Of course, these are both qualities of your true nature, so even if you have not as yet observed the creative manifestation of them in your daily life, it is important that you act as if you are highly aware of their continued creative presence.
Frankly, the conventional reality is likely to appear a bit confusing for a while. Yet, nothing forces you to be a part of that confusion. You possess your intellect, the vast experiential presence of your collective lives of learning, and you have the ability to stay awake and observe the situations you experience. Use these precious mental qualities. In so doing, you actually strengthen them, and that is, of course, desirable. But further, when you actually reject those old familiar trances that arise to keep you asleep, you empower yourself immeasurably.
You have it within you to realize your enlightenment, and perhaps this is the time you will do so. In truth, most of the great ones who realized their fully awakened states did so in circumstances that they regarded as difficult. Of course, when the mind opens to see the true nature of everything, all of your predecessors could see there was much more going on than the misery they suspected prior to awakening.
I do hope all of you find the type of learning that is now greeting you to be stimulating and in some way, wonderful. While the ego mind may have its moments of stubbornness, try to have a sense of humor at all it uses to dissuade you on your path. Above all, do not let its continual quest for sleep hinder the brilliance of your perfect mind. Even if you have not as yet discovered its luminous quality, I can assure you, its radiant nature is simply disguised by one illusion or another. Cut through; let that cutting through be the reason for your joy and the enthusiasm you offer all other sentient beings!

Beloved Students:
Greetings, blessings and the recognition of all things beautiful to each of you as we enter a new month, July, 2009. Those of you who hail from the U.S. will certainly recall that July is the month of liberation – well, at least for your national ego. In July teachings for a number of years, I have held out the opportunity for each of you to use the energy (which is quite strong in the U.S.) to enter the field of liberation at a personal level, as well. Thus, I hope you will bear in mind previous teachings as we focus on the teaching for July of this year.
In considering how to put together our focus for July of 2009, several considerations came to mind. First of all, liberation is truly “at hand” when one’s inner and outer worlds are completely congruent. When all the parts of your being actually are as they appear to be, there is profound freedom from the tyranny of appearances, be they instigated from within or without. This freedom, when realized, accounts for the great and luminous presence experienced when in the presence of spiritual giants. But further, it allows for a softening of the ego, which in turn opens the heart.
Secondly, if I were asked to select a single focus as an example of supreme balance, it would be the synchronization of inner and outer “realities.” Through my own experiences, and through watching the experiences of my students, I can assure you that attaining this level of balance is truly inclusive of all others, even the provocative relationship, and somewhat precarious balancing, of masculine and feminine energies. Of course, one must first see all those abundantly diverse forces for imbalance (as well as their seemingly infinite strata) that operate in the conventional reality before one can cut through their tremendous impact. In the working out of this kind of seeking, multiple realizations of liberation open along the way to the Realization of Liberation.
Thirdly, I have noticed that a number of you who were on our last teleconference have had significant shifts in both your awareness regarding inner and outer synchronization, and in your practical application of the same. Hence, l have decided to use the recorded version of that lecture for the July monthly teaching. Additionally, since only about half of those who subscribe to the Teaching-of-the-Month were actually on that conference call, I wanted to make the lecture available to the entire group of our subscribers to this service. Indeed, it has been rewarding for me to watch the internal response of so many who were on that call, particularly those who are new to our collective service through focused study.
Thus, please join me this month in listening to Balancing Inner and Outer Worlds, the recorded lecture for the last teleconference. This lecture is critical to our 2009 work on balance and equanimity. I believe that even those of you who were on the teleconference will still find plenty to harvest from revisiting this lecture. I am hopeful that each of you will look even more deeply into the rich and compelling dawning of your personal congruency between these “realities.” Most people, of course, have no idea of the relief that is felt when these two very powerful creative realms are unified. When one’s inner and outer realms become congruent, one’s power to manifest is increased markedly, as is one’s capacity for satisfaction and contentment.
Indeed, just what is this illusive “liberation” that spiritual teachers of so many traditions have taught? While terminology may differ from tradition to tradition, and while the parameters for determining the liberated state may vary somewhat, still, when you are around someone who has attained “liberation,” it is palpable to the deeper senses. While there are, of course, many ways to describe the state of mind that liberation brings, all pale in the light of the actual experience. Indeed, it is the realization of this goal to which the aspirant of wisdom charts his/her course. To the one who has realized it, there is no hindrance remaining in life that can tarnish the mind that has been freed.
You, perhaps like many others, may be wondering just what one is freed from in the course of realizing liberation. Well, you could say one is freed from the tyranny of ego mind, with its continual complaining, demanding and overt manipulation. But you could just as well say that the freedom gained is from the domination of samsara, or the destructive influences of those trapped in samsara. Of course, both the ego and the world of samsara are busily trying to convince you that you are not under any kind of control outside yourself. While this is true in the deepest sense, it certainly does not appear to be true in the inner space of the mind.
Have you ever asked yourself what it might be like to awaken each morning to a mind space that is completely at peace with itself, the Divine and the conventional reality? The world would be the world, and you would note that its being just as it is has nothing to do with who you are, nor how you might choose to live on any given day. The physical beauty, or the apparent nature, of everything in the world would inspire you as you search out the true nature of everything. Life would quite likely be different for you than you now experience, although trying to say how it might be different is probably an exercise in one type of illusion or another. After all, deciding how it might appear before it actually appears would likely close the doors to certain possibilities for being and seeing.
However, there are certain things we could say about the liberated state that are both true and uncompromising of any future experience. For example, I think it is safe to say that your liberated heart would be utterly full with the continually arising beauty that is trying to reveal itself in every moment. Having cut through illusion in your own mind and life, you would witness others breaking the bondage of their particular illusions, and you would take such joy (inexpressible joy, in fact) in being so fortunate as to witness the miracle of consciousness expanding.
The petty complaints about your own life will have been dissolved in a sea of gratitude for the profound wonder of life in all the many levels through which Consciousness expresses and partakes of Itself. You would savor the preciousness of physical form, and you would celebrate the dance of emptiness and karma in all its manifestations, as well as that of form and emptiness. You would allow for the presence of illusion at every turn, and marvel at the power of its ability to replicate itself again and again, generation after generation.
You would also be aware of the many opportunities that arise for cutting through the illusions and delusions that afflict all beings with whom you share this planet. You would be saddened by the many opportunities missed by most people. You would see how hard they strive to overcome limiting patterns, but also see how they then march headlong into them, being both aware that change is possible while also believing that the change they seek is quite impossible for them. You would hold this paradox (and many others) in your heart as a precious and lovely quality to the human condition.
You would want to see the eradication of pain and suffering from all levels of consciousness, and you would feel a compelling urge to change everything that lay within your power to change. However, you would also see that to do this, it would be necessary to change the way others perceive their world and relate to it. This, you would note, is impossible, and you would simply love them all the more for their confused attempts to master their own karma. You would not only see the inner place where they “live,” you would see just how they prevent themselves from living (being) in any other mind state. There are always reasons why people are where they are in life, and you would realize there is wisdom in the way their own karma is playing out, even it painful for them. With that realization, you would be able to see the perfection of that karma, and a profound respect would arise for the creative process (even if is seems more like blindness) that brought it all forth. Your sensitive, intelligent heart would feel as if it were about to burst open with love and compassion.
Some people believe that achieving spiritual liberation is merely a means to inhibiting their own pain. In other words, they see the enlightenment process as something they do for themselves. While there is, of course, personal benefit to attaining liberation, to hold such as the primary cause is managing to miss the point. Of course, there are a few who achieve liberation purely as a personal accomplishment, without being particularly concerned about others. However, while this may be possible from a mental standpoint, without the compassion of a bodhisattva, the heart does not fully mature into the heart of a Buddha.
I would like to suggest that instead of celebrating your liberation this year with noisy explosions from various incendiary toys (which have been known to start wild fires and harm people – particularly children), you might want to spend the day in silence, contemplating balance between your inner and outer worlds. Make a list of the areas that you see needing attention now, in order that they may not become obstacles later as you move forward toward realizing your own liberation. Where does it seem the most difficult to bring your worlds into absolute congruency? Next, investigate why such might be so for you. Call yourself to the highest standards for personal transparency, and learn to enjoy lessening the weight of the karmic baggage you now carry.
Know that the contributions you make in elevating your own thoughts, words and actions is a great gift for the planet at this time. It may seem like all the internal work is overbearing at times, but remember, you are taking the internal workshop of the mind. Even if there is none around to stroke your ego for all your hard work, still, your gift to the planet and Her process is immeasurable. Thus, keep on keeping on!

This freedom, when realized, accounts for the great and luminous presence experienced when in the presence of spiritual giants. But further, it allows for a softening of the ego, which in turn opens the heart.
Secondly, if I were asked to select a single focus as an example of supreme balance, it would be the synchronization of inner and outer “realities.” Through my own experiences, and through watching the experiences of my students, I can assure you that attaining this level of balance is truly inclusive of all others, even the provocative relationship, and somewhat precarious balancing, of masculine and feminine energies. Of course, one must first see all those abundantly diverse forces for imbalance (as well as their seemingly infinite strata) that operate in the conventional reality before one can cut through their tremendous impact. In the working out of this kind of seeking, multiple realizations of liberation open along the way to the Realization of Liberation.
Thirdly, I have noticed that a number of you who were on our last teleconference have had significant shifts in both your awareness regarding inner and outer synchronization, and in your practical application of the same. Hence, l have decided to use the recorded version of that lecture for the July monthly teaching. Additionally, since only about half of those who subscribe to the Teaching-of-the-Month were actually on that conference call, I wanted to make the lecture available to the entire group of our subscribers to this service. Indeed, it has been rewarding for me to watch the internal response of so many who were on that call, particularly those who are new to our collective service through focused study.
Thus, please join me this month in listening to Balancing Inner and Outer Worlds, the recorded lecture for the last teleconference. This lecture is critical to our 2009 work on balance and equanimity. I believe that even those of you who were on the teleconference will still find plenty to harvest from revisiting this lecture. I am hopeful that each of you will look even more deeply into the rich and compelling dawning of your personal congruency between these “realities.” Most people, of course, have no idea of the relief that is felt when these two very powerful creative realms are unified. When one’s inner and outer realms become congruent, one’s power to manifest is increased markedly, as is one’s capacity for satisfaction and contentment.
Indeed, just what is this illusive “liberation” that spiritual teachers of so many traditions have taught? While terminology may differ from tradition to tradition, and while the parameters for determining the liberated state may vary somewhat, still, when you are around someone who has attained “liberation,” it is palpable to the deeper senses. While there are, of course, many ways to describe the state of mind that liberation brings, all pale in the light of the actual experience. Indeed, it is the realization of this goal to which the aspirant of wisdom charts his/her course. To the one who has realized it, there is no hindrance remaining in life that can tarnish the mind that has been freed.
You, perhaps like many others, may be wondering just what one is freed from in the course of realizing liberation. Well, you could say one is freed from the tyranny of ego mind, with its continual complaining, demanding and overt manipulation. But you could just as well say that the freedom gained is from the domination of samsara, or the destructive influences of those trapped in samsara. Of course, both the ego and the world of samsara are busily trying to convince you that you are not under any kind of control outside yourself. While this is true in the deepest sense, it certainly does not appear to be true in the inner space of the mind.
Have you ever asked yourself what it might be like to awaken each morning to a mind space that is completely at peace with itself, the Divine and the conventional reality? The world would be the world, and you would note that its being just as it is has nothing to do with who you are, nor how you might choose to live on any given day. The physical beauty, or the apparent nature, of everything in the world would inspire you as you search out the true nature of everything. Life would quite likely be different for you than you now experience, although trying to say how it might be different is probably an exercise in one type of illusion or another. After all, deciding how it might appear before it actually appears would likely close the doors to certain possibilities for being and seeing.
However, there are certain things we could say about the liberated state that are both true and uncompromising of any future experience. For example, I think it is safe to say that your liberated heart would be utterly full with the continually arising beauty that is trying to reveal itself in every moment. Having cut through illusion in your own mind and life, you would witness others breaking the bondage of their particular illusions, and you would take such joy (inexpressible joy, in fact) in being so fortunate as to witness the miracle of consciousness expanding.
The petty complaints about your own life will have been dissolved in a sea of gratitude for the profound wonder of life in all the many levels through which Consciousness expresses and partakes of Itself. You would savor the preciousness of physical form, and you would celebrate the dance of emptiness and karma in all its manifestations, as well as that of form and emptiness. You would allow for the presence of illusion at every turn, and marvel at the power of its ability to replicate itself again and again, generation after generation.
You would also be aware of the many opportunities that arise for cutting through the illusions and delusions that afflict all beings with whom you share this planet. You would be saddened by the many opportunities missed by most people. You would see how hard they strive to overcome limiting patterns, but also see how they then march headlong into them, being both aware that change is possible while also believing that the change they seek is quite impossible for them. You would hold this paradox (and many others) in your heart as a precious and lovely quality to the human condition.
You would want to see the eradication of pain and suffering from all levels of consciousness, and you would feel a compelling urge to change everything that lay within your power to change. However, you would also see that to do this, it would be necessary to change the way others perceive their world and relate to it. This, you would note, is impossible, and you would simply love them all the more for their confused attempts to master their own karma. You would not only see the inner place where they “live,” you would see just how they prevent themselves from living (being) in any other mind state. There are always reasons why people are where they are in life, and you would realize there is wisdom in the way their own karma is playing out, even it painful for them. With that realization, you would be able to see the perfection of that karma, and a profound respect would arise for the creative process (even if is seems more like blindness) that brought it all forth. Your sensitive, intelligent heart would feel as if it were about to burst open with love and compassion.
Some people believe that achieving spiritual liberation is merely a means to inhibiting their own pain. In other words, they see the enlightenment process as something they do for themselves. While there is, of course, personal benefit to attaining liberation, to hold such as the primary cause is managing to miss the point. Of course, there are a few who achieve liberation purely as a personal accomplishment, without being particularly concerned about others. However, while this may be possible from a mental standpoint, without the compassion of a bodhisattva, the heart does not fully mature into the heart of a Buddha.
I would like to suggest that instead of celebrating your liberation this year with noisy explosions from various incendiary toys (which have been known to start wild fires and harm people – particularly children), you might want to spend the day in silence, contemplating balance between your inner and outer worlds. Make a list of the areas that you see needing attention now, in order that they may not become obstacles later as you move forward toward realizing your own liberation. Where does it seem the most difficult to bring your worlds into absolute congruency? Next, investigate why such might be so for you. Call yourself to the highest standards for personal transparency, and learn to enjoy lessening the weight of the karmic baggage you now carry.
Know that the contributions you make in elevating your own thoughts, words and actions is a great gift for the planet at this time. It may seem like all the internal work is overbearing at times, but remember, you are taking the internal workshop of the mind. Even if there is none around to stroke your ego for all your hard work, still, your gift to the planet and Her process is immeasurable. Thus, keep on keeping on!

Beloved Students:
I greet you with much joy and enthusiasm as we together celebrate the dawning of another new month. How wondrous that we may share in the illumination process of planet Earth! How wondrous that we may recognize and acknowledge the flow of divinity within the mundane and within each other. How exciting that we are privileged to hold the vision for a new Earth! So much to celebrate; so much to witness; so much at which to marvel!
Please join me in listening to An Empire out of Balance, a lecture I recently recorded for you in our continuing series on balance. I do hope that each of you is gaining much from this somewhat elongated focus on balance. Are you discovering that this is a complex and multi-faceted area? Clearly, if the road to balance was an obvious one, it is likely that the planet as a whole would be a bit farther along in creating and implementing a more perfect presentation of this essential quality. However, as you celebrate the dawning potentials for the planet at this time, do not forget to celebrate the balance you are birthing in your own life, as well as that of the planet.
I realize that when I give teachings about the problems that are (and have been) arising on the planet, there is a tendency for some of you to fall into that old familiar state of blame. As you listen to our lecture this month, please note that while the problems of Earth may appear abundant at the present time, they must be shared by everyone who is living and experiencing on the planet at the present time. While it may be tempting to blame the financial moguls, or perhaps short-sighted corporate executives, this is not the answer. As you view the apparent mess that is presenting for solutions at this time, it is tempting to try to find just who is to blame, then mentally try and convict those you deem guilty. However, this is not the answer. In fact, it is more of the same old patriarchal energy that contributed to the problems in the first place.
Because so many of the models you observe and pattern your own lives after continue to persist in the blame game, it may at times be tempting for the ego mind to fall into the same pattern. After all, it may attempt to reason, if you can just find the guilty party, that person could be hanged and life could go on in a better fashion - right?
While it may be tempting to assess blame to a group of people you deem guilty of social crimes against the planet, so doing misses a very important point: they are but parts of you. Now which part(s) of your collective "body" are you going to punish? Some of you may recall hearing teachings like, "If thine eye offend thee, pluck it out; if thy hand offend thee, cut it off." Yet, this advice is not particularly practical, is it? Even if you have a hand that is given to stealing, or an eye that is given to lusting, it is doubtful that either cutting off, or plucking out, will solve the problem, since the problem neither begins nor ends in the eye or the hand.
In the recorded lesson for this month, you will hear me stressing several times that all the problems of Earth belong to all the people of Earth. That means that all of you must bear some of the responsibility for all of the problems you perceive. It cannot be otherwise, and all those attempts (in your mind) to separate yourself from all those you deem to be guilty parties, only serves to exacerbate the problem.
The absence of balance, which fostered the non-clarity and distortional motivations that have brought about the current crisis, has arisen from the collective mental conglomerate of the human race and simply cannot be "pinned" on a few select individuals. This is true no matter how harshly you judge the few. It is tempting to slip into victimhood here, is it not? However, the truth lies in the fact that you are not victims. While this may be somewhat difficult to "let in," I assure you that it is only in facing (and embodying) this truth that you can cut through that non-clarity and distortional thinking/ projecting.
While the ramifications of the predicaments that now seem to paralyze the economic flow on Earth may be difficult to deal with in the conventional reality, still, the old patriarchal habits will offer neither solution nor solace. Yet in the face of such difficulty, if you are paying attention you will notice that this moment is ripe with possibility. Indeed, if a solution is to be found, it will come about as a result of consciousness viewing old patterns with fresh eyes - seeing the possibilities that have not previously been seen.
You have surely heard me say that the opportunities for transformation have never been greater than they are at this particular time on the planet. Consider why I might be "preaching" such a message. Since all of you should know by now that you have taken birth at this particular time to usher in the solutions (rather than reiterate the problems), something should be obvious to you. To coin a phrase,
Have you not known? Have you not heard?
Has it not been told you from the beginning?
Have you not understood from the foundations of the Earth?
You are the ones who have come to birth a new time and in so doing, be reborn yourselves. The birth of which I speak is a birth of consciousness; a birth of the seeing faculty of your inner senses. You are now being called to see not only with your eyes, but with the flow of pure consciousness. You could say that you are being asked to see through the very "eyes" of Oneness. Indeed, such is the only thing that can bring about the transformation of your precious planet, and all beings who call her home.
Since you are part of the creative force that brought forth the beautiful planet you call "Earth," you must then necessarily be part of the creative force that is healing and transforming the planet. You are doing this with the creative power of love - or have you forgotten? As you embody love, you open the birth canal for Love to enter the collective experience. Do you not remember that you took birth into physical form for this very reason? Who among you is separate from this holy process? Who among you claims the right to judge those your ego may deem less than holy?
The answer to both questions is: "None!" What is really at stake here is your willingness (and that of the other pieces of yourself) to take responsibility for what the collective you have brought forth upon the planet (i.e., patriarchal rule), and in the loving wisdom, which is your true collective nature, create something else; something wholesome, something supportive, something clean and pure; something that will generate life energy, rather than a death force.
If you are, in fact, going to bring about this transformation, you must first consider what it might mean to be the author of such a powerful creation. Who (or What) resides within you that is capable of such movement in the physical realm? Who (or What) is seeking to bestow this great balance upon Earth through you? Now I am, of course, speaking of the collective "you," not the little ego "you" who has a personal agenda at every turn of your life. That personal, or local, "you" resides in smallness, even though you make considerable effort to step beyond smallness and enter the creative force field of Essence. Know this: you cannot fight, argue, coerce or struggle your way into such transformation. You can only realize it.
So, it appears that you have come for a purpose, that the time of actualizing that purpose is at hand, and that you are the only one who can accomplish all this. Of course, in perceptible terms, you are the mere projection of your own mind. In the vaster sense, however, you are an expression of divine Essence. Why not place your bets on the vaster Self - that One Who contains all the pieces of Itself in a vast (if not yet perceptible) Whole?
May you have joy this day as you set about realizing your divine potential, and may you bless all with whom you share this remarkable journey.

The date (which will be announced soon) is an opportunity for people from around the world to chant, pray for planetary healing, and apologize to Earth for the devastation now manifesting in the pristine waters of the Gulf of Mexico. We will send a global message of love and purification. To do this, we will call upon other like-minded groups of people to join us. Further, your dedicated focus and loving service is hereby requested to create this massive effort of love Earth is now requesting. Begin seeding this great work in your hearts and minds now. Let us become the vehicle through which Earth receives Her purification.
As you all know, conditions continue to deteriorate in the Gulf of Mexico, as more and more oil, toxic gas and inner-earth debris are spewed from the gushing vents, and now from the ocean floor. I have recorded a short message, which you can listen to at (add link here). In it, I request that you add more energy and focus to your meditations for the Gulf by chanting OM and directing the vibrations of your voice right into the Gulf waters. As you do this, hold the intention of dissolving the ever-growing toxicity (specifics information is given in the message). Since the syllable OM carries the energy of dissolution, let your prayers and meditations focus your strongest intention to bring a dissolving force of grace to the Gulf.
I want to thank those of you who have faithfully done the pagoda meditation I offered a couple of months ago. While this meditation has not cleaned up the physical mess, nor revived and healed the wildlife of the region, it has at least siphoned off enough distortional energy to create some energetic openings in the communication process among BP, the U.S. Coast Guard, and the many volunteers who have arisen to the clean-up tasks Earth now requires.
While such may seem a small shift, it is nonetheless an important one. As we create a massive focus among dedicated spiritual aspirants around the world, we can begin the work of dissolving both the toxic energy and the physical particulates. Note: this effort is not to control the outcome (indeed powerful karma is arising that must play out). Rather, it is an effort to put forth our collective finest hour for the planet. Those who participate will have the opportunity to make great shifts in their own consciousness, and that can only bode well for Earth. May our efforts be fully dedicated to healing the Gulf area, and may that healing reach out to embrace all of Earth. Never doubt that a highly focused, transformative field of creative energy projected by a massive number of people can create miracles.
In the recorded message, you will note that I mention I would like to take 300,000 (or more) to the Gulf coast and chant right into the waters of the Gulf. Such would, of course, be a daunting task to organize and manage. However, we can pull together a massive group of highly focused people who can visualize themselves on the Gulf coast, doing chanting and prayerful meditations with a half millions like-minded souls.
I know that you are all committed to being part of the solution for your planet. Earth is seeking a great healing from the wounds She has endured at the hands of uncaring corporate interests. I have recorded a short message, which you can listen to at (add link here). In it, I request that you add more energy and focus to your meditations for the Gulf by chanting OM and directing the vibrations of your voice right into the Gulf waters. As you do this, hold the intention of dissolving the ever-growing toxicity (specifics information is given in the message). Since the syllable OM carries the energy of dissolution, let your prayers and meditations focus your strongest intention to bring a dissolving force of grace to the Gulf.
I want to thank those of you who have faithfully done the pagoda meditation I offered a couple of months ago. While this meditation has not cleaned up the physical mess, nor revived and healed the wildlife of the region, it has at least siphoned off enough distortional energy to create some energetic openings in the communication process among BP, the U.S. Coast Guard, and the many volunteers who have arisen to the clean-up tasks Earth now requires.
While such may seem a small shift, it is nonetheless an important one. As we create a massive focus among dedicated spiritual aspirants around the world, we can begin the work of dissolving both the toxic energy and the physical particulates. Note: this effort is not to control the outcome (indeed powerful karma is arising that must play out). Rather, it is an effort to put forth our collective finest hour for the planet. Those who participate will have the opportunity to make great shifts in their own consciousness, and that can only bode well for Earth. May our efforts be fully dedicated to healing the Gulf area, and may that healing reach out to embrace all of Earth. Never doubt that a highly focused, transformative field of creative energy projected by a massive number of people can create miracles.

Beloved Students and Children of Earth:
I greet you at a time of much confusion, chaos, and a time when radical changes are in motion. You are witnessing some remarkable shifts, even though you cannot possibly know at this point where it will all lead.
I have asked that you join me in a special teleconference this weekend, even though it is a holiday weekend. This will be free of cost to all who participate, and I would encourage you to invite friends you have who may share your interest in these most remarkable events arising at this time.
Whenever there appears to be a sense of urgency coming from a Spiritual Teacher, various projections are bound to arise. What I have noticed among my students is that in times of collective crisis, there is generally a need for people to come together in one way or another to create a co llective pool of energy and focus. Many of you may remember our work together after the events of 9/11, which most of you reported as helpful for moving you through that surprising and devastating event.
I am once again noticing that many of you have had compelling bouts of depression, even hopelessness. As you know, these types of feelings can suck those who experience them into a downward spiral of overwhelm and apathy. While such a reaction is understandable, it is not particularly helpful to those who experience it, nor useful to benefit the greater whole.
Clearly, there are many events occurring in the world today that quite sobering, to say the least. As each of you takes in the particulars of the various events, your relative compassion quotient should be getting quite a workout. You may find that you feel overly tired, listless, even helpless to get on with your own life. While we cannot say that the outco me of the Gulf hangs upon your attending this connection point, I offer it as a means of connection in a time when the rule of the day seems to reveal multiple levels of disconnect among the strata of consciousness now perceiving the arising events.
Thus, let us come together to collectively remember our joint service to Earth. As we do so, may there be some benefit for all sentient beings. Let us dedicate our focus and efforts to the benefit of the entire planet, and let waves of healing be generated from the Gulf of Mexico that may spread out to embrace the entire planet. May our co-created field of compassion ever expand, and may each of you be blessed for your efforts on behalf of a chaotic, changing planetary process.
May you engage with your planet fully at this time, but may you also hold your center of equanimity. May goodness and wisdom flourish in the midst of chaos, and may you all find ways to be a part of the solution. ; I look forward to our time together on Sunday evening. As I open fully to the process of heart purification, I am filled with forgiveness for all sentient beings on Earth.
Beloved students:
I again greet you in the urgency of our precious planet's needs. I do so appreciate the efforts of those of you who have begun working on the Gulf catastrophe. This message is to offer some feedback on your efforts and perhaps "tweak" our collective process just a bit.
In the first place, a huge Thank You from both Earth and myself. Please redouble your efforts at this time by sharpening/strengthening your concentration when do your Earth meditations this week. I note that some of you are having a bit of difficulty getting the white light in your meditation to actually burn away the etheric dross over the Gulf area. For those of you who find this visualization to work, continue to use it. For those of you who are experiencing difficultly, you may switch to using either your image for the Fire of Transformation, or the Violet Flame. The important thing is to carry that imagery of burning into you r meditation. Since one of the efforts now going on in the Gulf uses fire to burn off as much of the oil as may be "burnable," it is important to use imagery that will connect the etheric efforts with the physical efforts. In fact, burning at the etheric level can have real benefits, since it does not generate the pollution of smoke to contaminate the skies.
In the meditation given in the June teaching, you will note that I instructed those of you who are schooled in dong glen to use that meditation practice for reducing the various kinds of contamination and massive suffering now afflicting the whole area. I am particularly worried about the bird population, which should be nesting at this time. It is almost impossible to retrieve food from the nearby waters for the nesting "moms" without getting into the oil. This means that many nests may be vacated due to food supply, and that many will not have returning "moms" to te nd the nests, should they become contaminated with the heavy oil residue. Please direct a special flow of white light to the beings trying to undergo their normal life processes that have been compromised, afflicted, damaged, and killed by the growing oil slick (which is already too large to be called a "slick"). Further, numerous sea turtles who come ashore trying to lay eggs have been sickened to death. Also include in your projection of white light a protective force for all beings afflicted, and protective light as well as a cloud of deep appreciation for the humans who are working tirelessly to clean the oil from the birds and animals they can catch. Theirs is not only a tireless service; it is physically exhausting and devastating, emotionally.
In your meditation activities, pay particular attention to burning off the dispersant used on the lake of oil. Know that it does not remove the oil from the water, it only makes the particles so small they cannot be seen. In other words, the dispersant works to make the crude oil lose its cohesive properties, thereby dispersing the oil over the water so that it no longer appears like a giant oil slick. However, one side effect of changing the chemical properties of the oil is that it tends to make clumps of tar, which are already beginning to wash up on some beaches. While tar clumps could be harvested by workers picking them up, I'm sure you can see that this would be an awesome task in human work hours ~ not to mention the fact that the tinier clumps will likely find their way into the digestive cycles of birds, fish and sea mammals. Not only will these beings be ingesting the tar, they will also be ingesting the chemical dispersant. This could have severe effects not only on the mortality factor of these beings, but in their chromosomal constitution, as well.
Once again, please remind all barbers, beauticians and pet groomers wit h whom you may have contact to send the hair trimmings they collect to the Gulf project. However, please do not leave these people to fund the postage single-handedly. Leave a contribution to help cover postage, or form a group of people who will collectively pay the postage for one or more such individuals. Those of you who groom horses in the spring, save the horsehair and send with that of barbers, beauticians and pet groomers. Remember, the more you can join with others to combine not only hair clippings/brushings, but intention, dedication and focus, the greater will be the results in the Gulf. The more "press" each of you can give, and the more support you can offer these professionals, the better for the Gulf. Please know that your service is not only necessary at this time, it may be completely vital to the beings living in the Gulf. Besides plants and animals in the area, I extend this to fishermen, as well as to those who harvest o ther foods from the sea, including crabs, oysters and mussels, and further out, sea kelp. Therefore, keep your meditations powerful and regular. Use the full force of your concentration in this effort. Know that this moment holds a huge wake-up call for the citizenry of planet Earth. Be grateful that you are able to perform this service, and let your efforts be dedicated to the liberation of those who carry the brunt of the suffering from this calamity.
Those of you who are efforting to lose weight, redouble your efforts, as well. Hold that for every pound of weight you lose, the Gulf may lose 100 pounds of excess oily weight. For those of you who garden, as you pull the weeds in your garden, visualize some of the oily goo being pulled from the waters of the Gulf. With every haircut, dedicate the offering of your hair (and that of your pets) to the clarification of the Gulf waters. Know that every task you do can in some way be dedicated to clearing the fouled waters of the Gulf of Mexico. Take every possible opportunity to dedicate your work ~ even your play ~ to repairing the damage wrought in the Gulf. Know that in so doing, you are contributing to the overall cleansing of your planet.
I would like to correct one error in my earlier communication with you. Kathlyn was working under conditions that were not exactly ideal for that transmission. The word "hydrochlorides" came through, when it should have been "hydrocarbons." Those of you with chemistry backgrounds may have wondered a bit at the interesting terminology, and I want to take this opportunity to correct it.
May each of you be blessed a thousand-fold for your loving service, and may Earth have the energy and the where-with-all to rejuvenate her physical body from this grave insult.

Beloved Students:
What an exciting time this is for planet Earth! How wonderful to greet you at a time when so many possibilities are breaking forth for the planet, as well as for each of you. This is truly a time of redefinition, and I hope each one of you makes the very most of the opportunities available to you. Are you ready to “rock & roll,” as the saying goes?
How profoundly amazing for each of you to be able to witness the purification process as it unfolds for Earth. Clearly, in times such as these, you can find yourselves “making history” even in a default, or sleepy mode. However, it is much, much better to be fully awake for the journey. These are the times that some of you have waited lifetimes to witness. While each of you clearly has the work of your accomplishing cut out for you, don’t forget to celebrate all your unrecognized and unrealized potential.
Now I do realize that celebrating something you have not as yet observed is a bit of a stretch for some of you. While this skill appears to be easier for some of you than for others, stay focused on the fact that “there is no time like the present” to learn a new skill. I urge each of you to recognize the transformative power that now opens to those who would harvest it.
I hope each of you will enjoy listening to the recorded lecture I offer for May 2010. It spans a wide gap, which includes a number of parts: 1) looking at the interesting earthquake activity you are experiencing, 2) touching on the possibility for some volcanic activity, 3) drawing inspiration and support from Naropa’s life example, and 4) further exploring the regions of responsibility as a spiritual adjunct. How’s that for a single lesson?
In addition to the recorded lecture, I want to put before you in this written note the recognition of just how important your spiritual work is in these highly charged times. It is one thing to observe all the “shaking-up” at a planetary level, quite another to allow the confluences of energy now arising to actually launch you forward, spiritually.
Now I recognize that this may sound a bit grandiose to those who have not as yet learned to use the events arising in the conventional reality to support and fuel the personal journey. In this lesson, I hope to convince you of your utter connectedness to the planetary process.
It is one thing, of course, to understand this proposition as a conceptual exercise, and quite another thing to live your life from full realization of this truth. By “living your life,” I mean actively creating your present moments from this wisdom base. While many folks say they try to create their lives in synch with Earth’s “program,” the simple fact is that most create their lives either from their fears or from their denial of their fears.
As you consider the circumstances that are present in the lives of many people today, I think you will readily observe just what I mean here. Granted, the times at hand do require something significant from those who would negotiate life well. While the current difficulties people face may seem impossible to transcend, know that the tough times do, in fact, contribute to your spiritual strength – if you are available for the lesson, that is.
What part of you is participating in the activity of the planet’s tectonic plate movements? While I know I run the risk of sounding like the proverbial “broken record” here, I simply cannot emphasize too much how important it is for you to align your own creative continuum with that of the planet. (I also recognize that some of you are too young to have first hand knowledge of the “broken record” idiom. Talk to someone older than you for an explanation.)
Simply stated, for those who do not want to be defined by the conditions of the current time, I suggest that you utilize the lessons of the time to transcend the limitations of the time. If that sounds vague, go deeper. You see, there are moments in planetary history when the relationship of person to planet is magnified. You are now in one of those times. Thus, pay attention! I suggest that you find a way to make the very most of the situation, since going oblivious here can exact a pretty high price at a future date.
I do not make these statements to threaten or frighten you. Rather, I speak in this way because if, as a spiritual teacher, I do not, I must bear some responsibility for the relative ignorance of planetary citizens. For those of you who are quick to take offense by letting your ego project meaning upon my words that I may not have intended, go deeper. Recognize that in times when the relationship between person and planet is greatly amplified, so, too, the relative ignorance/enlightened quotient will be amplified.
While such may sound a bit ominous to the less spiritually mature, it can turn out to be something quite positive for those who can harvest the fruits that are now maturing. In truth, when planetary and personal karmas combine, as is now the case, each of you has a remarkable opportunity for purification and transformation.
I think many people would prefer to skip the purification part and just launch into the transformation part. While this is possible, skipping the former to attain the latter can make the attaining the latter much more difficult than it might be, were the former included. In other words, transformation without purification tends to feel somewhat like having a tooth pulled without anesthesia. Certainly, it can be done; but the energy it takes to withstand that transformative process might be more wisely placed in purification.
As you know from prior lessons in 2008 and 2009, purification turns out to be the core of all transformation. Such being true does not invalidate any other part of the process. In fact, as some of you may remember from our tantric work in the spiritual intensives offered in 2006 and 2007, enlightened activity follows purified body, speech and mind.
If we apply this wisdom to the process now unfolding for the planet, surely you can see just how important purification is for Earth. Of course, you should also be realizing that Earth’s purification can only come through the purification of Her sentient beings – that’s you! This is actually great news (even though some of you tend to see your current responsibility to the planet as a heavy burden rather than a privilege bestowed upon you because of your spiritual maturity. Indeed, it is the mature who will accomplish the purification of Earth.
This is truly an important time to call yourself to your highest level of functioning. I say this not only because you need to take the wisdom path, but because your planet is counting on you to take the higher road. If you look to the examples of great beings who before you accomplished their enlightenment, you will see that their desire for liberation from the suffering of samsara was so strong as to literally move the mountains of obscuration that stood between them and the goal.
In the recorded lesson for this month, we will venture into the life of Naropa, since I believe his life example has much to offer for spiritual aspirants today. For those of you who attended the last Peace Convocation, this will be, hopefully, a helpful review of our focus at that time. To those who are touching the power of Naropa’s example for the first time, may you find many points that inspire you and facilitate development of your spiritual awakening and self-determination.
You see, in times such as these, no spiritual teacher (no matter the level of accomplishment mastered) can “give” you the answer. You must raise your own answer – the self-determining force that hides in the core of your being – and you must follow it without reservation into the uttermost regions of your enlightenment.
While I cannot give you the answers, what I can do is to hold the field of enlightenment before you. On a good day, you can possibly just step into it. On other days, perhaps you can at least bump into it, and if that bump is sufficiently jarring, perhaps you can open to receive the full measure of your true nature. There is yet another option, and that is to just join me within that field so that we, together, may offer the field of enlightenment to the whole world. How could we better spend the energy of our beautiful connection?
Know that you have come from love, you are sustained by love, and you shall ultimately return to love. What better gift could you offer to your precious planet than our gift of profound love as She makes Her spiritual transition? Walk in utter and complete kindness.

While the current difficulties people face may seem impossible to transcend, know that the tough times do, in fact, contribute to your spiritual strength – if you are available for the lesson, that is.
What part of you is participating in the activity of the planet’s tectonic plate movements? While I know I run the risk of sounding like the proverbial “broken record” here, I simply cannot emphasize too much how important it is for you to align your own creative continuum with that of the planet. (I also recognize that some of you are too young to have first hand knowledge of the “broken record” idiom. Talk to someone older than you for an explanation.)
Simply stated, for those who do not want to be defined by the conditions of the current time, I suggest that you utilize the lessons of the time to transcend the limitations of the time. If that sounds vague, go deeper. You see, there are moments in planetary history when the relationship of person to planet is magnified. You are now in one of those times. Thus, pay attention! I suggest that you find a way to make the very most of the situation, since going oblivious here can exact a pretty high price at a future date.
I do not make these statements to threaten or frighten you. Rather, I speak in this way because if, as a spiritual teacher, I do not, I must bear some responsibility for the relative ignorance of planetary citizens. For those of you who are quick to take offense by letting your ego project meaning upon my words that I may not have intended, go deeper. Recognize that in times when the relationship between person and planet is greatly amplified, so, too, the relative ignorance/enlightened quotient will be amplified.
While such may sound a bit ominous to the less spiritually mature, it can turn out to be something quite positive for those who can harvest the fruits that are now maturing. In truth, when planetary and personal karmas combine, as is now the case, each of you has a remarkable opportunity for purification and transformation.
I think many people would prefer to skip the purification part and just launch into the transformation part. While this is possible, skipping the former to attain the latter can make the attaining the latter much more difficult than it might be, were the former included. In other words, transformation without purification tends to feel somewhat like having a tooth pulled without anesthesia. Certainly, it can be done; but the energy it takes to withstand that transformative process might be more wisely placed in purification.
As you know from prior lessons in 2008 and 2009, purification turns out to be the core of all transformation. Such being true does not invalidate any other part of the process. In fact, as some of you may remember from our tantric work in the spiritual intensives offered in 2006 and 2007, enlightened activity follows purified body, speech and mind.
If we apply this wisdom to the process now unfolding for the planet, surely you can see just how important purification is for Earth. Of course, you should also be realizing that Earth’s purification can only come through the purification of Her sentient beings – that’s you! This is actually great news (even though some of you tend to see your current responsibility to the planet as a heavy burden rather than a privilege bestowed upon you because of your spiritual maturity. Indeed, it is the mature who will accomplish the purification of Earth.
This is truly an important time to call yourself to your highest level of functioning. I say this not only because you need to take the wisdom path, but because your planet is counting on you to take the higher road. If you look to the examples of great beings who before you accomplished their enlightenment, you will see that their desire for liberation from the suffering of samsara was so strong as to literally move the mountains of obscuration that stood between them and the goal.
In the recorded lesson for this month, we will venture into the life of Naropa, since I believe his life example has much to offer for spiritual aspirants today. For those of you who attended the last Peace Convocation, this will be, hopefully, a helpful review of our focus at that time. To those who are touching the power of Naropa’s example for the first time, may you find many points that inspire you and facilitate development of your spiritual awakening and self-determination.
You see, in times such as these, no spiritual teacher (no matter the level of accomplishment mastered) can “give” you the answer. You must raise your own answer – the self-determining force that hides in the core of your being – and you must follow it without reservation into the uttermost regions of your enlightenment.
While I cannot give you the answers, what I can do is to hold the field of enlightenment before you. On a good day, you can possibly just step into it. On other days, perhaps you can at least bump into it, and if that bump is sufficiently jarring, perhaps you can open to receive the full measure of your true nature. There is yet another option, and that is to just join me within that field so that we, together, may offer the field of enlightenment to the whole world. How could we better spend the energy of our beautiful connection?
Know that you have come from love, you are sustained by love, and you shall ultimately return to love. What better gift could you offer to your precious planet than our gift of profound love as She makes Her spiritual transition? Walk in utter and complete kindness.

Dialogue with Shamballa
Q: Shamballa would you please speak on the Buddha’s teaching and Dharma. Would you please speak on the Four Noble Truths and the eight fold path and compare it with the Christ's teachings the differences and the similarities. Thank you!
A: Greetings all of you that can hear my voice right now in your mind. Listen not only to the words that are in your mind, but listen or rather feel the meaning behind the words. The words are only symbols of the reality that they symbolize. Words can get in the way of the true meanings because of how we interpret them and that has happened with all masters, Christ’s and Buddha’s teachings. Unless one is enlightened and can hear the Word from which everything is created, which is soundless and yet it is being everything there is, meaning your true nature it will be misinterpreted.
One must learn to think with the heart and that is to feel the words and their meaning and not your interpretation which for you must be logical to your interpretation of Reality. It must conform to you concepts of what you think that reality is. This makes for a misperception from the true teaching which cannot really be spoken, but only felt or experienced. To feel something is to sense beyond what you call physical. Feeling is a non-physical sense orientation.
As human beings we think something is true and with our physical senses establish what is true for us based on the perceptions we are having of thing or object. What you think, is what you will see, but is our thinking accurate? In other words, is the object we have perceived with our physical senses based on what we think is there accurate. Perception of anything is really an interpretation of what is there. If we believed that the moon was made out of cheese that is how we would perceive it. If we believed that the earth was flat and the center of the universe and we all mutually agreed, that is how we would see it and if we believed that the nature of reality is dualistic then we would see it that way so that opposites would be just as much reality as anything else. For us then they would coexist.
To transcend duality one must see that with opposites one is true and one is not and that they really cannot coexist. One would rule out the other if you choose to believe that fear is real then that would be your experience until you chose differently.
Now I am going to say that Reality is not dualistic as one would believe but is singular and the one Reality that always was, is and will be is Love and the nature of love is what we all are. Love is not something you do to another it is what you are being.
The enlightened Self or Buddha Nature or Christ nature is eternal Love. This is what bliss is and this is what Spirit is and this Love is also life and limitless Light.
When one has an experience or a glimpse of the Real which is you in your totality of being and one see the Self as you the true nature of Reality as the Buddha did that is the door, that is when the veil of ignorance has parted for that moment and one is permitted to see into the unseen not with physical sight but with spiritual sight which takes the very Light of your true nature to come forth and shine but until one has fully embraced one’s Divine Nature in one Self and in each and everyone and everything in the Cosmos and one has embodied this light, Life and Love as the very flesh of your being you are not fully awake.
Once must embody or let in the Essence of what you are until there is nothing else and your body is become a body of light and your world as become transformed into a world of light where there are no shadows and not darkness and where the sun is always shinning. A world where you no longer die or are born and there is no sickness of any kind and where you are free from any limitations that you once perceived as true.
It is where your body now is perpetually regenerating every cell in every moment and where you are eternally alive for ever as Spirit.
This Reality which is Singular already exist and in this state of mind which is the true nature of mind which is light and the substance of which is love and all of this energy of the Cosmos is Life eternal, is what we are in our totality that means we are one with all of the universe all of the stars and planets and beings that have been created out of this one light and one universal mind.
That is the Enlightened Self but as long as your see another self that is as true to you in your mind as the one that is Awakened you are not free from limitation, suffering and death.
The human condition is one where you step out of your Enlightened Self only as in a dream and in so doing imagined a self being a a human being or a mortal who is born into a world of the senses, suffers and dies, because you have chosen to believe what is not true about you, so that you can have your own independence and freewill to choose what you want reality to be and because you have the power of the universe to back you up, you experience what you have chosen, a body that is limited and a mind that is limited and a realm that is limited which is always only a misperception set in time for awhile, until you decide that you to not want to experience creation this way anymore and that now that you know that there is another way to experience everything that has always been the way to experience everything which is lovingly, you are now willing to let go of your limited perception and beliefs and to now sense everything as it really is and the way it has always been created out of love and light.
No matter what you think you will never really die or suffer anything only in dreams, but now you are ready to awaken to the real Self and to the real world the kingdom of Heaven and to experience it right here on earth and with this body you have.
As long as you choose to believe in this mortal realm of experience as the only way to experience life based on a three dimensional view of the world, where one experience decay and sickness and nothing last but is turned into dust, you will have made for yourself with everyone else that still chooses to dream dreams a human condition and a mass mind of thought that has no reality in the Kingdom of Heaven and is where you are right now and will always be even though in time you are experiencing two world one of fear and one of love which is more in the hereafter then eternally right now.
This is only because you are as your believe a separate being trying to establish your own sense of reality and power as a independent entity no matter if that illusionary self you have identified is suffering or not, it is myself and I made it that way.
I am choosing to believe that the self that I made in my mind is the real self and that the son or daughter of God is a false self that the Father created is not true. I want my own independence of power and to do things my way. I still want to experience the pleasures and the desires of the flesh and this world of my own making even though I know it will never last, but at least I can be my own self and say with a knowledge of self importance I did it my way.
This is the ego assertion of a personal limited will that is holding itself separate from what God created or what Life is being. You are not limited in any way but because of that you can choose to make anything your desire, but unless it is a true desire it will not last and you will suffer the lost. You can never really establish yourself as real because you are already real as God the Source of your being created you and you are the extension of what this Source or Creator is being.
God created you Holy which means you lack in nothing and imbued you with a will to create. Now you either create in the image of God or you make. What you create in the image of God is always holy and eternal but what you make will change into nothing.
Now I am not at this time going to go into the Buddha’s teaching to compare with you what is true or not. I am letting you decide what is true for you or not by what is real and what is not real, because that is the only comparison that is worthwhile.
What is Real is what truly exist and what is not never really existed only in a separated mind. If you base the teachings of Buddha or the Christ on what is real and what is not you will not err. Remember what is Real is what is you and what is not real is only in your imagination. There are not two realities going on at the same time that are opposed to each other there is only one and that one is your natural inheritance to be experiencing right now.
The impermanence or what appears to be unsubstantial is only what you make up in your mind and the mind is where everything is experienced, there in nothing out there or outside of your mind. Your mind is eternal as is Gods and what you project in your mind is what you make to be real. The permanent is the Real always and that is what God is creating now. It is only your impermanent idea and beliefs that are unreal.
It your perception or the way you are choosing to see reality or creation that is impermanent. That is what changes. The Changeless is the Buddha or the Christ's nature and the emptiness is what you project of itself as your perceive it is what is empty. There is that which is beyond the world of emptiness the Pure Land or Heaven that is changeless and is substance as God the Creator created it and what is this Creator, Mind and what is this Mind Spirit. This is the Essence of everything and What God Spirit creates or extends from Itself is what you are. The reason for creation is to Know Thy Self. God Knows ItSelf through its creation and God Knows ItSelf through us and as us because is Its creation.
Emptiness means nothing of itself exist, that there is something that gives it existence and therefore meaning, not a meaning it would give itself but a meaning that is what it is in its true nature of being and that means what God is being it.
The self you have made is what is empty, the world that you have made by your report of your five senses based on what you believe is there is empty. The substance of what is being is full.
There is a law of nature and that is ‘Nature abhors a vacuum.’ There is no real space or time all is filled and all is eternal in the mind of God and that is the only mind there really is and infinitely so.
